Every order has two sides; one being the origin and the other being the destination. In AgriDigital, we use the term 'Twin Deliveries' to refer to these two sides; as an example the 'purchase' of goods and the 'receival' to your warehouse, or the 'sale' of goods and the 'out-turn' out of your warehouse. The twin deliveries allow for different parties to monitor the relevant parts of the delivery.
Here are a few examples of common orders that involve twin deliveries:
An order from Inventory to a Sale Contract:
These deliveries relate to an order from a site's inventory to a sale contract. The twin deliveries are Out-Turn (Order) deliveries and Sale (Contract) deliveries.
The Out-Turn (Order) delivery refers to the origin of the order - the out-turning of inventory. The Sale (Contract) delivery is the grain being moved to the destination. This contains information pertinent to the sale contract such as prices, destination etc.
In the Storage module, creating an Out-Turn (Order) delivery takes the quantity from your Storage Inventory. This then automatically triggers the Twin Delivery - the Sale (Contract) delivery - to be created onto the Sale Contract.
An order from Purchase Contract to Inventory:
These deliveries relate to an order from a purchase contract to a site's inventory. The twin deliveries are Receival (Order) deliveries and Purchase (Contract) deliveries.
Similarly, creating a Receival (Order) in the Storage module will deposit the quantity into your Storage Inventory, triggering the corresponding Purchase (Contract) delivery as the Twin Delivery.
The best way to find Twin Deliveries is to put the corresponding Order number in the Transactions > Deliveries search field.
A more detailed example:
A Site Operator creates an order from their inventory to a pre-existing sale contract in the Transactions Module.
They then create a delivery in the Storage Module - provided it has the same details as the order just created, this order will appear as an option in 'Order Reference':
This Out-turn (Order) delivery is only for the Site Operator. It is used only for the out-turn of grain from the site. The key info here includes the weights, the site location, the bin segregation and commodity details.
The Site Operator then searches the order number in Transactions > Deliveries. You can see here that the Out-turn (Order) delivery just created is displayed, as well as a new 'In Progress' Sale (Contract) delivery. This is the twin delivery that was automatically created.
This delivery reflects the Transaction side of the order, and displays info relevant including prices, qualities, vehicle info, destination location, etc.
In this example, the weights and inspection for the relevant contract were set to Destination. Therefore, the Site Operator will need to update this delivery and enter in the Quantity and Grade - as well as any other required fields.
If the weights and inspection in the contract were set to Origin, the twin delivery would automatically be 'Completed'.
