What’s the difference between Save and Complete buttons when creating deliveries?
What’s the difference between Save and Complete buttons when creating deliveries?
Updated over 2 years ago

Click Save when you want to create a delivery record while some delivery details might not yet be readily available. You can update a saved delivery anytime to add/edit any further details as it becomes available, as long as the delivery has not yet been marked complete (see Update or edit a delivery). Note that saving a delivery does not update your inventory totals until it is marked complete.

Click Complete if you are happy with all the details of the delivery and want to finalize your load. Completing a delivery will adjust your inventory accordingly, update the remaining quantity on a contract (if applicable), and generate the relevant receipts and issues for that delivery.

Save

When you save a delivery, it is stored in the Deliveries list and becomes visible to anyone in your organization. Anyone in the organization can update it with the latest information as it becomes available (e.g., add weight information, etc.).

Saved deliveries are assigned with a record ID that is preceded by ‘TMP’ (e.g., TMP113000010).

Depending on the fields that you have filled-out, AgriDigital Onfarm sets a corresponding delivery status which reflects the stage of the delivery. This is shown through color-coded status indicators in the Deliveries list (see Delivery status explained).

Saving a delivery does not affect your inventory totals. Your delivery will only be included in your inventory once it is marked complete.

Complete

When a delivery is marked completed, it is stored in the Deliveries list as a completed delivery record and becomes visible to your organization with the same record ID, but this time preceded by ‘D’ (e.g., D113000010).
